One Month

This is it. We're on the home stretch. Four and a bit weeks left. Soon we'll be boarding our one-way flight to Vancouver.

It's all systems go here now. In the last month, we've celebrated Christmas and New Year, sent our official notice to our employers, continued to sort through our belongings, purchased suitcases and additional luggage for the flight, organised money, booked removalists and became a little more nervous and excited about it all!

We still have a few things to sort, but the big stuff is dealt with and booked in. We'll be finishing work on Friday 5th, moving out of our apartment on the 6th, and will have a few days to relax and soak in Brisbane before we leave on Friday 12th. There's so much happening between now and then with social engagements, live events to attend and people to farewell, alongside the everyday busy-ness of work life (Jan & Feb are the two busiest months of the year at my shop!).

It is quite surreal to think that in one month from now, we'll have a few suitcases full of our closest and most valued belongings, ready and rearing for the adventure that awaits. I'm not really sure what to expect and to be honest, I'm trying not to place any judgement, expectation or pre-conceived ideas of what life in Canada will be like. I'm going in neutral and am letting go of the anxiety of finding a home and employment. Whatever will be will be. It really is an adventure, the world is our oyster and the possibilities are endless.
