Thursday 16 May:
Typhoon Lagoon

On our final day, we had planned to visit Animal Kingdom. But by now, we were masters of pivoting and changing plans, and decided our time was better spent at Typhoon Lagoon. We’d had a brief moment at the water park a few days prior but had to leave because of incoming storms. With better weather forecasted for Thursday, we headed back to the park for one final day of soaking in the glorious sunny weather.

It was hard to leave Typhoon Lagoon! It had been so long since we had beautiful warm weather to bask in. Sunkissed skin and sand between our toes. Swimming! I didn’t realise how much I missed these small delights until we were at Disney World. Our lives are so fast paced back home, so it was great to have a moment to slow down and take it all in.

Arriving back at the hotel, we spent the evening at the resort pool - hanging on to the last moments of our time at Disney. Eventually we turned in for the night to catch a moment of shut eye before our early morning flight!

Friday 17 May:
Goodbye

With a 7am flight out of MCO, we were given a Magical Express pickup time of 3am. Being stubborn, we stayed out by the pool the previous night for as long as we could. Which meant we weren’t getting to bed until 11pm. With barely 3hrs sleep, we sleepily arose and finished packing our belongings.

By 3:15, we were on the bus and slowly making our way to the airport. Unfortunately, there was no direct flight back to Vancouver, so we headed to Toronto first for our connecting flight. After a 2hr layover, we boarded our second flight to YVR. Barely awake, we had made it home. And like that, our Disney adventure was over.

Having been home for a few weeks now, we’re more enamoured with this place than ever and trying to justify a trip back. It’s a tough life 😆 We are not Disney obsessed by any means, but the curated experience of Walt Disney World is worth returning to. We’ll be back.
