Winter 2023

New record for the biggest delay between the season and posting about it! Winter (and Spring) have been a lot for us, but we’re finally on the other side of it all and beginning to feel like ourselves again.

December was a blur of snow, cancelled flights and packing.
We’d planned to visit our friendos in Kelowna for Christmas but the weather had other plans :( So instead, I got my ears pierced and we got ahead on packing for our move.

As I alluded to in Fall, we learned that our beloved apartment was being put up for sale. As sad as we were, we did our best to look for a new place that could offer something more - and that’s exactly what we found. A two bedroom apartment with a spacious living room. Arguably more space than we need right now but rental prices are crazy and this gem felt too good to pass up.

On the first Saturday of the new year, we moved 5 minutes down the road to our new home. The moving day was as fun as you’d expect. ‘Highlights’ included: standing in the rain for 2.5hrs trying to guard the council reserved parking space for the truck, eating lolly snakes as replenishment (thanks Holly!), and the removalists wrapping up about 3 hours later than planned :’)
The rest of January was spent in life admin mode, setting up the new home and saying goodbye to our old one.

It wasn’t until I was editing these photos that I remembered what we got up to in Feb. Aside from recovering from a busy to start to the year, we also met with our jeweller to start searching for our wedding bands :) Oh, and we met a snowman!
